Notes from Feed My Starving Children:
Blaine Royalty is not a program where the girls look pretty and wave to others on floats, these girls work. Saturday the girls had their first real bite of volunteerism with this program at Feed my starving Children in Brooklyn Park.
26 people from the Blaine Royalty candidacy program including all older candidates, jr. candidate Emilee and some of their families. Spent 2 hours helping out pack food for children in Haiti. We were lucky to have 2 royal guards join us Zach and Matt.
First everyone washed their hands and put on Stylish Hair nets and Aprons. Then we all sat for a quick Introduction of Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) which touched many. We found out that every other time you breathe a child dies of starvation. We also found out that in order to go to sleep without hunger pangs they made these Biscuits out of Dirt, water, little bit of salt and butter and the sun.
Next everyone went into the process room where they showed us a demonstration then they got started. There were several jobs from adding one of the 4 ingredients, packing boxes, weighing the bags, and sealing the bags. Our goal was to make a perfect 400 grams a bag and when someone got 400 they yelled HOO HA!
After time literally flew by they needed to clean up and try a sample of the food they prepared to be shipped to Haiti. They also got to hear their count and in the 2 hours there, they fed 38 kids a meal a day for a whole year. That means 38 kids will not have to eat a mud biscuit for a year that means 38 kids will get the proper nourishment for a year that means we made it possible for 38 kids to have a greater chance of living! It felt amazing especially for what we did.
We plan on doing this again so keep an eye on the calendar so if you would like to join you can let us know. If you want to start helping out now get an M&M mini (tm) tube and fill it with quarters then either e-mail or call and we will set up a day for you to bring it in so we can bring it to FMSC.
ALSO FMSC is always looking for volunteers! They also take monetary donations but for further information go to their website

UPCOMING BIRTHDAYS- Emilee, and Jen
We would also like to thank FMSC and the Royal guards for helping us.
